Youth Empowerment

Goal: To teach young adults vocational skills in rice and maize farming, processing and marketing that lead to employment or create income. Currently we are working with our partner Community Action For Economic And Social Transformation (CAEST) to empower youth and women in Lira, Northern Uganda.

Our Strategic Plan emphasises on empowering youth with vocational skills that can make them get jobs or create employment themselves. Currently we are working with our partner Community Action For Economic And Social Transformation (CAEST) to Empower youth and women in Lira Northern Uganda.

Youth and women are taught vocational skills in agribusiness in rice and maize farming, processing and marketing. CAEST now have over 40 members and have their own rice and maize milling factory in Lira Town.

Impact of our Work

Thank you message from our partner.

The Management and members of Community Action for Economic and Social Transformation( CAEST) would like to thank Medaid UK for the financial support given to CAEST through Medical Aid Uganda. This has enabled CAEST to achieve greatly in the field of sustainable agriculture, more particularly rice growing, processing and marketing. Besides that, many of our youths are now employed in the agricultural sector which has increased their level of income, reduced poverty and crime rates.

CAEST has also purchased one brand new milling machine for rice processing in addition to the two that were acquired earlier.

We hope to continue working together as partners in uplifting the living condition of the local people in Omoro Sub-county, Alebtong District and other districts in Uganda.

God bless you all.
